Issue 17: "Lucky White Ranking Kitty?"

This is the tale... of a kitty who ranks only a white belt and competes in a friendly Judo tournament with Hong Kong players...

The kitty, being only roughly 43kg, was competing in the lightest weight category. Apparently the kitty and its comrades were anticipating a balanced and level match with the competitors. They were wrong. All, and I mean ALL of the competitors were green or brown belt-ranking.

The order of our ranking goes like this: White > Yellow > Orange > Green > Blue > Brown > Black

The kitty was the only white belt in its category. Apparently, it was a knock-out system. There were six of us in our weight category, so we sparred three in a section. The other two in my section was a brown belt Hong Kong player and a green belt 15 year old from our dojo. The first round was the two of them, and our green-belt comrade won. Then the kitty did not have a match as the competition shifted to the heavier weight categories.

... whut? o.O

Then the sensei yelled at the kitty saying the kitty was great and all. FOR ENTERING THE FINALS. WHUUTTT??

So this is what happened. Knock-out system causes two default people to compete, then the other automatically advances to the finals. And since there were three of them only, all three of them got medals.

What the kitty got, you ask? The kitty lost to the green-belt comrade in an awesome Ippon (1 point).

This is a really busy week. Three Japanese fairs are on now and the kitty is busy popping by them to get the best fishy deals. Kitty pics will surface in the next post!

Speaking of Japan... anyone interested to go to Japan at the end of September?! The kitty's Japanese Club has a number of mortals going. Our trip is roughly 85% confirmed and we will be booking our flight tickets soon. Care to join us? Let me know and I'll give you more information on where and what we will visit and see.

Issue 14: "Life; a Form of Energy?"

Energy cannot be destroyed. It can only be transfered from one form to another form, and the total amount of energy remains the same.

The kitty believes life is the same.

Just a random thought occured to her earlier. It starting with thoughts like "I'm not surprised that some people hate hearing others say they have no purpose in life and wish to kill themselves. It's unfair that people who have their full lives and health wish to die when people who don't struggle to live. Why can't those who wish to die give their life to those who want them so desperately?"

Then the kitty thought of the book it read last time, "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom.

Life's unfair, yes. But when you think about it, life applies the same theory as energy where it is transfered from one form to another. In anyone who loses their life, the kitty is sure that someone else will receive a little if not all of it. Like how a death can cause some to appreciate their lives more. Like how a death can indirectly cause another person to live without both parties knowing it at all.

So does that mean life is a form of energy?
